Bar Biscay is thrilled to announce their liveliest event series to date: Last Saturdays Discotheque. Following regular dinner service on the last Saturday of each month, the West Town restaurant transforms into a 70’s-inspired discotheque from midnight to 2 a.m., with porrons and vermouth flowing until 2:30 a.m.
Starting Saturday, July 27, the first of the monthly event series will kick off with DJ Big Dumb Caesar, also known as Archie Powell, Bar Biscay's bar manager and headliner of Archie Powell & The Exports, local live band extraordinaire.
The first Last Saturdays Discotheque will feature the artists of one of the 70’s most amazing recorded music rocket ships, Casablanca Records. Neil Bogart and crew were notorious for putting the excess in success, and the funk in defunct, but had an amazing run of hits with artists such as Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, The Village People, Kiss, Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Cher, Hugh Masekela, Barry White, Captain & Tennille and many, many more.
The patented ‘Bar Biscay Disco Dance Floor’ will be available for mandatory dancing enjoyment. 70’s era-appropriate costumes are encouraged.
