Event Description:
Vision & Values: The Public Arts Committee is a Committee of the West Town Chamber of Commerce that aims to create a public initiative within West Town that values cultural diversity and takes art out of designated space and places it in the public context to create full accessibility. Through highlighting local, emerging, and established artists; our purpose is to culturally invigorate our vibrant community by enriching the neighborhood with pieces of public art, this will help to stimulate the local economy and establish West Town as a unique cultural destination.

Objective: To create community art spaces near parks and schools, in store fronts, on/in vacant properties, stimulate the local economy through cultural enrichment, aesthetically improve the neighborhood. Create welcome message on the water tower near Milwaukee & Chicago, commission paintings for scaffolding and temporary construction sites, update and maintain green space.
Positioning Statement: West Town is a neighborhood destination which thrives on the principles of community, and the subsequent charm created by this diverse, yet united community. This is an area defined by a rich history of residents and the entrepreneurial pioneers who?ve helped maintain the essence of what truly defines ?Chicago,? its neighborhoods.
